Biography: 

Dr. Umans is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology since 1993. She graduated from Amherst College and received her M.D. from New York Medical College, followed by Radiology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1993) and Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship training at the The Hospital for Special Surgery, (1994).

Dr. Umans held the position of Associate Clinical Professor at Montefiore Medical Center from 1994 until 2002. Since 2003, Dr. Umans has served as Director, Musculoskeletal Radiology at Jacobi Medical Center. She served as Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Albert Einstein School of Medicine for 13 years and also held the position as Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at that time.

Dr. Umans has received numerous awards and Honors, has lectured extensively, authored multiple articles in professional journals and book chapters and presented papers at national radiology meetings. She served as an editor for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American Journal of Radiology and Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography. She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, New York Roentgen Society and the Society of Skeletal Radiology.
